M head issues

Been working on a cheap M (thank goodness). I have not seen it run. Issue 1: Rocker arms are badly cupped. Can these be ground at home or do they need to go to a machine shop? Issue 2: Both the breather tube that runs front to back on top of the head under the valve cover AND the tube that runs from the back of the head to the breather are missing. I guess it is from shoddy workmanship knowing the tractor would be sold. What damage could this have done? I would like to find a source for these tubes as well as some miscellaneous engine small parts. Thanks, JD

I have a lot of left over parts from buying tractors with junk engines. I probably have a nice set of rockers as well. Email me if your interested.

If the external hole in head was plugged, no damage. Not a big deal as IH finally, about twenty years later, decided these tubes leading to the air cleaner were not needed anyway as they just tend to cause excessive build up of dirt in the inlet of the air cleaner. I do keep them on those old tractors though, and remember, the rear fitting into head has an orfice hole in the fitting.
