1026 Golden

I don't think they kept a record of them. As far as I know, they needed to have a 1970 serial number and show signs of having had black paint on the steering pedestal and gold under the sheet metal. I have a 1970 1456, but it appears to have been born red.

Yes the only way to tell is if there is gold paint showing in places and it has a black dash and it will still have the demo decals and there will be red paint over them also must be 1970

My Dad had them bring out a golden 1026, and he thought it was awfully loud, mainly because it was hydrostatic, I think, and then had them bring out a new 1456, which was red. He bought it and was very happy with it. The year was 1970, about January.

There is no record of the exact serial numbers of the tractors which were painted gold for the Gold DEMONSTRATOR (not anniversary) program. All we know is there were a few tractors of certain models painted gold for the program in 1970.

Because of this people can paint any 1970 model gold and claim it's a "gold demo."

You need forensic evidence to prove that a tractor is a true gold demo. Gold paint on the backside of panels, or under red is a good indication, but still not proof positive.
