[b:54faa0b062]Put the oil pan back on the AV this morning, and while waiting for the (oil proof) RTV to set up, I proceeded with changing the filter. Popped the cup off and much to my surprise... an original IH oil filter.

Kinda one of those "wow" moments. I just wonder how long this tractor had been sitting, it was definitely kept inside hense all the pigeon crap on it. One thing is for sure im not throwing that oil filter away, its a neat little souvenir.[/b:54faa0b062]

Lol Nice i bought a 1066 last year and it still had the IH fuel filters on it and coolant filter said IH still.

Dad tended to buy oil filters by the case and I am sure others did as well. Cool that it is original IH but it may not have been in service that long.

I may be going crazy but I think I bought a new one from Rice equipment not long ago that said IH on it. Maybe some old ones still kicking around.

the ones I've bought recently from the IH dealer have either been Case IH or Safe Guard, the Safe Guard's only seem to be for the shorter filters like what is on my BN.

Hey robby, my md had original ih fuel filters and a oil filter as
well but mine were shot and to dirty to keep... you got lucky
there nice peice.

I've got a brand new one for my H that I picked up at an auction for
$2 in a box which originally had three filters in it. It was a good
deal on a filter but I have not used it because I keep thinking that
someone somewhere probably would like it.

I had the same discovery when I started tearing into my F-12 that had sat for nearly 30 years. Just had to find some way of using it so one evening my son and I did this little project. I have a lot of photos of the entire process in an older post.
