hey guys im looking for help with a f-12. im a first time poster but this looks like the place to get the right answer. when your driving the tractor (forward or reverse dosent matter) and you push in the clucth the transmission does not disingage. after a few feet it will sometimes stop or you have to pull the hand brakes, then you can feel it disingage. i pulled the inspection cover and looked at the clutch. it appears all is working fine. foot pedal works freely, throw out bearing works fine, i can see the clutch plate move back when the pedal is pushed, its not touching. im going to try adjusting it like the book says but if that doesnt do it im looking for ideas before i tear into this thing. also if somebody could post a secional or exploded view of the clutch assem. and belt pully set up i would appriciate it. sorry this is so long winded. thanks in advance.

ive got an F-20 that did the exact same thing. what it turned out to be was grease from the throwout bearing had flung out while running and got between the cutch disc, the flywheel, and the pressure plate. it created enough of a suction that you had to step on the brakes to get it to break loose

If you have a belt pulley on it, it will do that. Since theres no way to disengage it, inertia from thespinning pulley keeps driving the tractor until it stops. Take it off, and that will stop.

I don't know how the belt pulley works inside the tractor. I assume that when you step on the clutch it should freewheel could something there be gummed up causing it to run on

Sounds to me like the disk is sticking to the pressure plate, probably from grease getting on the disk. Can't remember how much room there is but if you can have someone push the pedal in and try to spray some brake cleaner on the clutch that might do the trick. Don't speay the throw out bearing.

No, the shaft will spin regardless, belt pulley or not, but since its not on there, thats is not your problem. Im going with a sticky clutch.

Sticking/bad pilot bearing in the crank will do that too. Full clutch disassembly to get to that one. You may as well disassemble the whole thing and clean and check it. Doesn't take long.

thanks for the input guys. i really appriciate it. im going to be working with my m this weekend, hopefully i ll have some time to take a closer look at the f12. i ll post an update when i it figure out
