Kennell - How's that M doing?

M is still soaking at this point. Thanks for the link on the M parts. I'll keep that in mind. Last week a guy on the island here had a SM block for sale. He wanted 500. I told him i wasn't paying that for a block when i only paid 700. for the complete M eith two sets of wheel weights.
I'll give the M another week to soak and if that doesn't do it, i'll pull the head and oil pan check things out. Have a great day. Kent

I would move the tractor away from any building and pull the head. Separate the p-arts as you remove them and identify the items in each box.
Drop the oil pan and use kerosen or diesel fuel and set one piston on fire. Have the rod cap off and use a piece of 2 X 2 oak and a big hammer and drive the rod and piston out. The heat should loosen the piston. Hal

Sounds like things are going well. I was over to the Island (last week, I think) and had a look at a Massey Harris 44. Something I've seen pretty good luck with is to jack up one rear wheel and put the tractor in high gear and then try rocking the wheel back and forth. It's just enough of a bump to help things free up but not enough to risk damaging rods or anything. Good luck with it, Sam
