F 20 rocker arm shafts

Installed them tonight. There is a collar on the outboard end of each shaft. Is the inside end of the shafts supposed to have something on it to keep them in place also?

Should the spacers that go on the studs, but under the valve cover, be over or under the nuts that hold the rocker arm shafts down?
Thank you
Steve

should be a spring in the center to hold the rockers. Should be a nut over the oiler try to hold down rockers. Nut over cover to hold cover on. oldiron29

the spacers go on the front and rear stud on top of pedestal then the oiler tray and nuts if memory serves me correctly.

I only saw two spacers in the valve cover and so I assumed the spacer went over the top of the tray and also if the spacer is over the tray, the wicks are closer to the opening in the rocker arms.
Thank you
Steve

I saw the spare spring in the valve cover, but I have so many extra parts, that I thought it belonged to another set of rocker arms. Makes perfect sense to me now.
Thank you
Steve

you may need to replace the felts in the oilers then, they should hang down plenty far enough. But as long as the rockers don't hit the tray I don't see a problem.

Here is what mine looks like. I assume it is correct but your mileage may vary.

Thank you for the photos. My wicks have a twist in them. Each going under and over the other. I will put the spacer under the nuts. Did you put a lock washer under it also? I know the height must be critical to get the cover to not be to high or low.
