Can anybody tell me the weight of a IH #70 3 bottom plow? I got one from my wife,s uncle in very nice shape, and need to know what I need for a trailer to haul it It's about 250 mile's. Thank's

You need length more than weight, they are not that heavy, less than 1,000 pounds Id say, probably closer to 500. I just unloaded one with this story. Seven year old son pulled the trip rope dropping it on the trailer. I didn"t have a boom so I chained to my 4010 and gently pulled it to edge. Moldboard slid under angle iron at back of trailer. Cussing ensued. Try to push it back only the hitch is set up to be pulled with clevis not in reverse. More cussing. Anyway I managed to hand unload the sob. In hind sight I should have figured out a way to stand it back up. Green bruises all over shoulders and biceps. I had mine on a 12 foot trailer and it pretty much took the whole trailer. One 3500 pound single axle would be fine, its not heavy. Do not not pull the trip rope.....

I think a no 70 will be close to 1000 lb if not over, but weight won't be a big issue. It will be fairly wide and long, a no 70 is a lot bigger frame than an old no 8 genius. A car hauler trailer would be fine. I had a 30 8 3 bottom and a no 60 3 bottom on my 16 ft car hauler, and there wasn't any room for anything else !

if it happens again , just jackup the frame and rotate the tire till it resets itself in the up position.

Here is my #16 (3x14) on my 20' car hauler (18' + 2 ' dovetail) They are dimensionally about the same.

I had WAY more room.I would say a 14' trailer would do it?
(Fold the hitch up.)

I have weighed 2 and 3 bottom Little Genius plows before, a 2 bottom weighs right around 800 lbs. and a 3 bottom 1200 lbs. I would guess that a #70 3-bottom would be right around the 1200-1300 lb. weight range.

I've used a come-along as a makeshift lift for loading plows on to my trailer. Usually the lift linkages are wore and the plow barely clears the ground. Come-along hooked to the right things winches them right up.

Just finished rebuilding a #70 3 bottom (well it was a 4 before I started). I was able to wrestle it around with a floor jack and muscle without too much trouble. I flipped it back over with my cherry picker. I can roll it around by hand very easily with 760-15's on it.

Loaded a 412 4 btm and a #70 3 btm on a 16 ft car trailer without issue a couple of weeks back...
