(quoted from post at 07:50:07 04/02/12) Sorry I know this has probably been anwsered my searching didn't bring up what i was looking for. I was wanting to know what was the widest tire size that fit on the rear of the H? with the same tire height.

A 12.4x38 is the widest tire that COULD be mounted on the 10 inch wide rims. IF you have 11 inch wide rims, you can go up to a 13.6x38.

I have 10" rims with 14.9/38s. They were on a parts H that I
bought and I needed tires, so I have been using them for the past
two years with no problems.

thank you everybody for your replies. just wanted it to look a bit cooler lol not really necessary but need new ones anyway. I found some at Tiretown of Leavenworth, Kansas they are blems but thier price on thier web site at 325 apiece (13.6 x 38 $325) or (14.9 x 38 $350 ) seems hard to beat maybe.

The price on the web site is never available, at least when I have
called. I think that it is more of a theoretical price that they might
charge if someday they got a blem tire in that size. They will try to
sell you a tire for twice as much when you call.

Stay away from those "blems" tires. You get what you pay for, and sometimes you don't even get that.

I see that you are from Iowa. Might be too far for you to drive, but there is a tire dealer in Redding, Iowa that always has very good prices on tractor rears. I've bought 2 sets from him. Redding is just barely on the map.

I think it is primer showing through. The paint on the H is in terrible shape, it looks like it was called for and couldn't come. Someday when I am ambitious I hope to paint it so it is all one color again but I don't want to just spray over the rust and dirt and loose paint, so it will keep me busy for a while.

Oh,its cool.I just thought it might have been a yellow H originally? Coudnt tell from the photo.

BYW,My Super has both green AND grey primer on it,as well as the red!!! lol(It works for a living! ;)I will paint mine again in the future.

Guess maybe I'll see if i can make it through another year. Only bale about 800 bales with it each year.

The problem you'll have in squeezing wider tires on there is, they will look more ballooney than cool.

You need to have a wider rim to allow the tire to spread out. 12.4x38 belongs on an 11" rim I believe, but is commonly installed on 10" rims.

The coolest tire on an H is a 15.5x38 on a 14" rim, because the 15.5 is the same diameter as the 13.6, just wider. Unfortunately that's only an option if you've got an unlimited budget because you need rims and tires. Of course you could widen the rims yourself if you're a decent fabricator.
