I was instructed sir but I have forgotten. The first thing I learned in the Army in 1969. This also applies to which post on the generator to ground to see if the voltage regulator is bad. I have been instructed but ............ Could someone please tell me one more time, and also how to identify the proper post? Thanks, Ellis

If you dead ground the Gennys FLD post and she charges then but NOT otherwise, that tells you the gennys is okay so the problems EITHER the Voltage Regulator is bad,,,,,,,or the VR isnt well grounded (or not wired correct),,,,,,Or if its the older cutout relay system that uses the LHBD Light Switch, the switch isnt grounded or its bad or the wires bad from FLD on genny up to the switch.

The genny posts are labeled ARM and FLD, its the FLD (sometimes the smaller of the 2 posts) you ground in the above instructions
