YES CERTAINLY!
Its all there, tin looks straight.
Of course I am bias! I started farming with a 400 and have one restored.
Value? as is 700.00 to 1000.00 if no cracks in engine, no welds or big breaks on tractor. It has factory front,a plus.
Its not for the faint of pocket book because your going to have to go through everything as it appears to have been setting a long time.
The mower could be a plus, its probably a koch,if you can find parts.
It would be a shame to let her go to the furnace.
Go for it! I wish you well!
I'll include a after picture.

The tractor is restoreable just depends on how much money you want to put into it. I wouldn't give over $400.00 or $500.00 for it. Just from the picture it needs rubber, some emblems, wiring and a light, and most likely brake work. I redid a Farmall 450 two years ago and rear tires and tubes with dismount and remount cost $1,500.00. You will find more thing that need replacing the farther you dig into it.

I'd like to have that tractor. Kosch mower and all! I thank you for posting the pics. I saved them for referance to mount my mower on my H.

I would think the wide front would bring the value of the tractor up a bit. Like was said tires are going to be big $! I have two 13.6's in my garage waiting for the wallet rechrage to buy rims!

Worth? What do you men by worth?

It looks like a good project or you probably can make money by parting-it-out. If you restore it you will have a tractor you can be proud of, however, tractor restoration is not very profitable.

Yes, I would go for it. I have a SH with a kosch mower on it and It's the best mower to mow with. Also KOSCH is still in Nebraska for parts! Good people to deal with.

If you just want one , then yes restore it. If you think that you can restore it, sell it for a profit including all parts and labor, then no. You'll have far more $ invested in a true restoration than the market is willing to pay

There's at least 3 tons of scrap there at least so you're looking at $750-$900 just in scrap value.

By the way the right rear rim is jauntily positioned next to the tractor, someone intends to restore it or sell it as restoreable. I suspect asking price as it sits is somewhere in the $2000 range. Ridiculous.

Because of the parts factor the tractor is worth more than scrap value. If the engine turns over then $1200. You can easily get your money back in parts.

Minus the mower scrap value on the tractor $700-$800 depending what the price of scrap iron is worth. But you always have to factor in the seller thinks it's worth a little more. Your call what your willing to pay.

I like the exhaust cover!!!

Very few tractors are "worth" restoration and that one won't be either. But if its a project you want to keep you off a bar stool it looks like a good one. The rims are good, the metal is complete, if the engine turns over its a good starting point.

Around here in that condition it would be around $600 (not alowing any value for the mower - haven't seen any of those sell). If it had both back tires on and both were not flat it would be a $1000 even with the tires in that poor of condition.

You need to ask yourself. Do you want or need it?
Will you put it to work after?
You can put a lot on money into it, But when done you will have a good tractor that can earn it's keep.
Just remember = You will not break even if you want to sell it. Still cheaper then a new one of that size.

(quoted from post at 13:56:18 04/02/12) I would like to buy tractors for what you guys say there worth, that tractor would bring 2,ooo around here easy

jimmy

Was at a auction last summer where non running tractors were selling $1200-$1500 range. And the buyer was Mohr's in Cuba City WI. All were bought for scrap.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

(in MA here)

I hear all these stories of $600 trators and it makes me want to move west.

I'd bet a 400, in that condition, could easily get $1500 around here. Not to say you couldn't find a cheaper one, but somebody would pay it without too long of a wait.

Like everyone is saying,It just depends on how much you wanna take on here???

I would jump all over it if I wanted a 400!

Do not expect a big pay off when you go to sell it.You will be restoring it for you.

For MOST people that mess with old tractors, the "resurection" is half the Challenge/fun/point of it???
