Farmall A fan blades

Are the fan blades on an A suppose to be bent backards on the trailing and leading edges? The trailing edges would make perfect sense to push the air back, but why the leading? Wouldn't this push the air forward? Here is a picture of what I mean.

I think your fan has been hammered on. Carefully look to see if it was mangled to clear the extra brackets and belts of the alternator. If it is necessary to flatten it as much as it is, I would remove it entirely and put am electric fan and temp switch on it. Or re arrange the system to clear a normal correctly shaped fan. Jim

Replacement fans should be readily available from places like wengers dot com and bates dot com, maybe even a local salvage yard.

I will check the clearance issue. I am goin to try to bend them back. If I fail, then I am still buyin new blades anyhow. Thanks for the confirmation on them bein "jacked up"

Thanks, but I bent them back a bit more and the way it sounds I should get atleast another 2 mph in high gear :)
