I bought a 560G and have a issue with the steering wheel. When I mount the tractor and pull on the steering wheel it comes toward me. It is not fixed. Is there a hold down missing? It has powersteering. Any ideas ?

You should not be pulling yourself forward by pulling on the steering wheel, but most of us do it. There may be a coupler down the shaft that has come loose. You will need to tighten the pinch bolts and then life should be good again. On my 400 there is a collar that I thought wasn't very important. The steering came a part in high gear, wide open. Just missed a century old pine tree. That slip collar is now in place and very tight.

I will add to SDE's comment. The steering wheel shaft is connected to the power steering control housing. Farther forward is another bracket on the shaft. The wheel to PS bushing could be toast, the PS control could be loose in the dash brackets (likely), or the forward bearing on that shaft could be worn or loose. Jim

There should be a set collar at bottom of upper steering housing on shaft. Also if play in shaft there are bushings in that steering housing that can be replaced.Next check bearing/bushing near starter make sure bushing and washer is good and check to see that where two ends of shafts connect,That they are tight.Just a thought make sure nut on steering wheel is tight and wheel splines are not damaged. Good Luck, Tony

That steering system is designed to have the front universal joint slide on the steering gear input shaft. The input shaft hast to move in and out of the steering control in order to work. There are tractors that have had this yoke fastened tight to the input shaft as a repair to a worn shaft. If the yoke is not allowed to move on the shaft the rest of the steering linkage all the way to the steering wheel must be allowed to move in and out.
