What do I have here?

I have this old 1947 Farmall H with the M&W Nine Speed transmission. I was looking at selling the tractor and was talking with a gentleman tonight about it. I am not too familiar with the Farmall add-ons and he informed my that it looked like the tractor has the M&W Live Hydraulics. Here are some pictures of the pump and from the little research that I did, it looks to be so. What I am wondering is the value of the pump. Also what do you think the value of the Nine-Speed would be? The bad thing is the tractors motor is stuck but if I had another motor to put in it I would do that! What do you think this tractors worth with these two M&W features and considering the condition of the tractor?

Thanks!

Its worth Scrap Price Maybe Extra $100-150 Can't test neither so who knows if any good best thing to do is part it out and forget about it its just a old h nothing special

If you take the transmission parts out and they are in good usable shape they might be worth more than the whole tractor, but there is some labor involved to do that. I don't know anything about the hydraulics.

YEA,I agree with all here.I would check Serial number to make sure it aint a real "RARE" one.(Doubt it is.)

It is worth what it weighs at the junkyard, but I would DEFINITELY part it out!!! Someone would love the 9 speed parts. The pump is questionable, but would be of some value to someone for a part.

Take some of the "goodies" off ,sell those parts, and scrap/sell the rest. Most valuable THAT way.

It does have some sort of live hydraulic pump there where the distributor should be. Also looks like it has the IH factory 2-way "christmas tree" valve.

Those two things are worth as much as the rest of the tractor in its current condition.

Where did you see the Christmas tree valve? I am not calling you a liar, but I didn't see it.

That tractor is worth scrap plus $100-200. The first poster was dead on. I wouldn't (and a lot of other people as well) because there is no way to load it at your farm and no way to unload it at my farm.

I wouldnt say the 9 speed for the H is very desirable. Buddy had one he put on ebay, this site, craigslist etc....not one taker. Got an M with one that wasnt working right, sold in minutes.

That type of hydraulic pump was discussed a while back in regards to vertical mounted distributors. If the pump and distributor drive are good they would indeed be worth as much as the rest of the tractor. They should also fit on an M.
