The only dirt I will plow this year

The town made me replace my 70 year old water service prior installing their new remote radio-reading meters. I didn't wanna because I didn't think it was leaking. But sure enough, there were corrosion holes in several places but the heavy rust retained the pressure.

Couldn't use my big 780 Case backhoe/loader as there was not enough room. Rented a nice Komatsu mini-excavator. Back-filled with my 660 with Elwood front axle. The blade took a full bite with no wheel slippage.

A 60' roll of 1" Type K (heaviest) soft copper now sells for $373. I only used 30' and looking to sell the other 30'.

Hope you don't mind Wardner. LMK if you want me to drop these pics. BTW it is super easy to post off of photo bucket. I usually click the "Direct Link" that comes up when you hover over your picture. Then it automatically copies. Past in the post. Highlight and then click "Img" and done. I guess I doesn't sound so easy when you type it out.

It looks like a real bulldozer with all those rear weights and the front assist.

This spring I went to buy some 3/4" copper pipe to use as a buried airline but the sticker shock changed my mind. The airline hasn't been done yet and won't be until I can find something cheaper. Jim

Those fenders are the equivalent in weight to a pair of wheel weights. Damn heavy. I do miss not seeing the tires to get a better sense of tire slippage. But when the tractor is in four wheel drive I can look at the front tires.

The other day I had a tire sidewall leakage. There was a small cut on the inside wall. Didn't know it until the tire was nearly flat. Had to fix it away from the barn to save the tube. The tire was probably junk or unrepairable before but there was no doubt about its poor condition when I got off the tractor. There was a long tear on the outside sidewall due to running nearly flat. Luckily I bought a pair of used tires at the Chapter 18 flea market last year.

Don't have a good picture of the custom tool box. It is trapezoidal in shape in order to clear the 560 Fast Hitch rockshaft arms.

Go plastic. Either the black poly or Pex. Wished that I could have used some of that on my water service.

One could install some of that plastic in a larger tube and never have to dig up the service again. Just slide in a new tube should it become necessary. Only have to dig a small hole at the street curb. Heck, one could do that by hand even though it is five feet down.

No, that is fine sflem.

I have probably posted over a thousand pictures. Something was askew with YT last night. I posted in Classic but the picture wouldn't pop up in Modern.

I went to Modern to correct my 60" to 60' and didn't see the photo. I added both the picture URLs (Classic and Modern) as well as correct my error. Nothing took. I wish management would trash one or the other formats.

I went and checked out your whole photobucket after I posted the pics. I found out you post a lot of pictures because I have seen quite a few of those! I LOVE that sandblasting truck. That thing is sweet.

I wish they would scrap the classic. That way people could post on an older thread and it would go straight to the top (like all other modern forums...) It would cut down on a lot of the same old posts and "in reply to" type stuff. If they switch to a vbulletin style forum they can also utilize PMs. That would cut down on the "janicholson,bobs,wardner-my tractor is junk" type posts. That stuff belongs in pms and emails IMO.

The interaction between Classic and Modern is still messed up. None of your posts on this thread have appeared in Classic. YT support has stated that 90% use Classic so your posts might be mostly unread at the moment. This problem may be confined to this thread.

That sandblasting rig was probably the world's largest one-man portable rig ever built. It was way out of OSHA specs running 750 CFM at 120 PSI. I didn't give a damn because I had no employees. I did thousands of those tanks on those turning rolls. They averaged around 35 minutes each. When you work by the square foot, the money comes fast and furious. The truck had an air winch for rotating the tanks. Also had a 45' man-lift, 50hp pressure washer driven from the DT466 crankshaft, a smaller air driven pressure washer., high capacity airless paint setup that could spray coal-tar if need be, and room for my motorcycle that was loaded with the man-lift The big trailer mounted dust collector was rented. Everything was bought new. The environmental regs eventually shut me down. I was in business for 30 years. Long enough. Those 10 degree mid-winter days really got to me after awhile.

I think part of the reason 90% use classic is because it is the default. Do you know how many would use modern if you got rid of classic?  There would be a lot of mad one finger typers.

My thoughts also. Make "Modern" the default, and that 90% thing would quickly reverse.

3/4 for long runs and 1/2 for the drops is pretty standard. My first drop is about 70 ft from the compressor, the 2nd about 100. You don't get much pressure drop with 3/4 inch, more with 1/2. Compressor I use for painting is more than adequate at 15 cfm at 90 psi. The one for sandblasting has 24 cfm, barely adequate.
