Farmall 404 WFE for a 560

I found a 404 WFE that appears in decent enough shape, needs some work, but the price is a good deal. Will it fit my 560 without too many modifications?

Thanks,

Matt

It will not fit as is. Modifications will include new brackets for mounting and bolt pattern for steering IIRC. The thickness of metal in the tubes, and strength of spindles might be a compromise toward weak. Jim

Not a chance. Many modifications necessary to make it fit.

404 front end is little more than a Super C front end. Way too light for a 560.

I don`t think it`s even close to fitting without alot of monkeying around to make it work. The stay rod won`t be near long enough, either. Even then, a 404 wide front wasn`t designed heavy enough in my opinion , to be put under a 560. I think you`d be overloading the spindles and tubes. The other thing is, the Farmal 404 widefront isn`t all that common, you could probably buy it to trade or sell. I`m sure there`s guys out there looking for them- me included. A 560 wide front shouldn`t be too hard to find. By the way, you are talking a Farmall 404 widefront and not an International 404, correct ?

I agree that a 404 WFE will not come close to fitting on a 560 Farmall without major modifications and then it will likely be too light weight to last long term. Two completely different chassis and tractor sizes. You should strongly consider finding one from a M-450. Cheap finds don't always turn out to be cheap in the long run.
