Always was a Deere person, but we always had a 1953 super H stage II with battery box under the seat. How many of these were made? Think they were made from 1953 and 1954 only! They are a neat tractor, lot of H out there and even Super H also but that stage II is a special one runs like a Swiss army watch! My serial tag reads 21056 think makes it a late 1953.

Yup, only in later "53 and "54. Other than the battery placement to make room for the live hydraulics same as a stage one, but great tractors

Serial 21056 is a Stage II, assembled some time in December of 1953. The only reason I know that is because the serial number on mine is only about 60 off of yours, and I looked it up at the Wisconsin Historical Society when that info was available here a few years back.

There's more to it than just the battery box location. The starter was moved to the opposite side of the bell housing and is a 3-bolt starter. All provisions for the belly pump have been eliminated. There's no countershaft drive lug, no holes in the torque tube for the outlets or the control lever.
