B275 tire options

I"ve got a B275 that has 14.9 - 28 tires on it. They are falling apart pretty bad and the best price I can find local is $384/each without mounting.

Saw a set of used 16.9-26 today in pretty good shape complete with 8 lug rims. If I went with these would it cause problems? What I really need to know is what my tire options are for this tractor.

Hi Shane, traction wise probably about the same. Difference would be ground clearance and gear speeds. The tractor would probably slightly slower in every gear.

Another thing to check is the clearance between the tire and fender if it has fenders. The16.9 would be a little wider but should fit.

How are you going to put a 26 inch tire on a 28 inch rim? Or is that a misprint?

They used ones are already installed on rims. I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern is the same.

14.9 X 28 are a bit too big as it is (when new). I don't know about the 16.9 X 26 since good info on tractor tire diameters is hard to find. If they have a bigger OD, I would not use them. B-275 ought to have 12.4 X 28. I assume you're cheap like me and don't buy new tires.

I've got three B-275s. 14.9 X 28 tires with good tread will rub/hit certain types of three-point hitch equipment.
