966 seat shock

Wheres a good source for a new shock for a 966 seat, I have ours adjusted as firm as it will go by turning the handle all the way under the front of the seat and the seat still has no suspension. I think the shock has let go. It pulls up and bottoms out even with my 6 yearold on it.
 
We are talking mechanical, not hydraulic seat here right. Sounds like the rubber (springs) are shot. They just let go so no tension or twist on them. They are not cheap but available at CASEIH. You will no doubt need a bunch of bushings also to repair it.

I am not 100% sure, but I don't think the mechanical seat has a "shock."

If it's the hydraulic seat, it may be cheaper to replace the seat with something generic. Might even be cheaper to replace the whole tractor...
 
take the spring out or shock whatever it has and put a volly ball or football under it point the fill port to the frt and you have an air ride seat we have done this on several tractors its cheap and easy and works good

craig, I rebuilt my 966 tractor seat assembly 2 yr ago. My dealer has a source for aftermarket (Round seat Torsions) for that seat assembly. ($80 ea. New from IH), his price was 1/2 price of New, $40 ea.,, $80 Total. They usually have them on hand! OBTW MY Dealer... Williamson County Equipment Co. @ Taylor, Texas. (Phone# 512-352-6381)
