International Cub Small Bearings in Oil Pan

I found some small balls from a bearing in the bottom of the oil pan on my International Cub.
Where could they come from? They are about 1/8 inch in diameter.
This is a 1970's vintage Cub.

I agree with Gene, the only thing I can think of with bearings that small would be the governor.

Same here - with the one possible exception of rotator caps "rotocaps" optional on the exhaust valves. I've never seen those in person - would imagine the balls in them would be smaller than 1/8" - and have no idea if they were an option on the cub in the first place.

So - just a thought.

The governor bearings measure .153
The RotoCap bearings measure .124
RotoCaps were available from the initial production of the Cub, and of course could have been added at any time since.
Here is a pic of the governor bearing to the left, and the RotoCap to the right for size comparison.

thanks for all the help in finding the proble. It is the govenor thrust bearing that is going south. I looked at a new one and the bearing size and retainer match.
