M serial Numrer definition

I have i belive a 1949 M with the serial Number FBK 275288x1
what i would like is a service manual and i cant find this number in any referace areas, is the plane M manual what i am looking for???

binder books dot com. You will get copies of the last printing of the IH manuals, which should be ok. They will have operators, parts, service and some Blue Ribbon Manuals. They are high quality. You can supplement those with an I&T manual (google that one), or get it from Tractor Supply. TSC will not have the IH manuals.

Yes a plain old M but its a couple of years younger than you think.

The x designation means that it was built as a straight gas engine model. I'm not sure if the 1 is part of that code or refers to something else.

X1 is a gas engine, there are many X codes for the Farmalls.

I have had several that have the X1A/X1E, etc numbers and letters.
My X1A supposedly has the slow gears. With a set of 16.9 x 38 tires it pulls at exactly 1.5 miles per hr. You can never run ahead of the pace tractor.If I can get a good hook and follow the un chewed up part of the track, I pull well.
