McCormick Deering 15-30 exhaust

I am looking at a 15-30 that is for sale. The exhaust is vertical, all the pictures I have seen in books show the exhaust comming out the side. Was a vertical exhaust also available on the 15-30 as a factory option? Thank-you, Phil

there was a "ROBIN" manifold kit that had the exhuast going through the hood along with an updraft carb. from factory exhuast was from below as in the 22-36 picture below.

Ive seen far more P-300 power unit kits put on 15-30's than the Robin manifold. they key is that the power unit mod uses a zenith K5 carb and not the original style side draft carb

maybe so in your area, but the robin is stamped right in manifold with big letters and it was a change over for more power. thats 85 yrs. ago and i did not witness that change over.i have seen tractors with the robin set up on 15-30's and w-30's.even had a w-30 with the robin setup. going by what the older generation told me, that it was a dealer change over. not starting anything either just giving some information.

Heisler did make a gas manifold with a vertical exhaust that used the original side draft carb.
