farmall H carb - float setting

Could someone please tell me what the specs are for the float in a farmall h carb? This tractor is notoriously hard to start. Mag is rebuilt, motor has a fresh top end 2 years ago, have great suction at the carb,(rules out vacuum issue) but can't seem to get the fuel to the cylinders. The carb is gettin lots of fuel and it has been cleaned thoroughly. I was thinking that if the float was set too high that the carb would just bubble instead of vaporize the fuel. Could this be the cause of my headaches?? Thanks Kippster

Thanks Old. I'll give that a try. Ironically enough it probably one of the first things I should have checked!! Thanks again. Kippster

Float too high floods and puts too much fuel in the intake. Imagine sucking on a cool butterscotch malt. As the level goes down it takes more suction to enjoy. When you refill the glass from the steel "extra" malt that the waitress set next to the napkin, the enjoyment takes less suction. Same in the carb high fuel easy (too much) fuel. Jim
