It Is History ,,Wish We could still live that Way ,, WONDERFUL show of PRIDE ,,. My sentiment MIRRORS the Comments ,, There are 86 ,, Take time to read and understand them ...

What an awesome video! They should play it on TV as a public service announcement.

This could still happen today but is tougher with the litigious, winner-take-all mentality that is trying to take hold these days.

Good cross section of size and brands. Everything from an M to a 4020!

That's pretty cool. My uncle lost his hand in the combine first day of harvest in 1974 and the neighbors did a similar day, it's been done more than once for other neighbors where our family farm was.

That was cool !! Quite a variety of equipment.
I had forgotten about the little red flags that precursed the orange triangle slow moving vehicle signs we have now.
I am sure we all have stories of a neighbor that needed a bit of help from time to time, they never asked for it, it just happened.

Yea,ALOT of different "brands"of tractors. I love it because it gives a REAL good shot of a #16 plow like mine!!!! Also a couple of good looking 450 Farmalls. I spotted a Moline "5 Star" for a brief second towards the end of the film.

I would had liked to have been there that day.WHAT FUN!

Dozens of times things like this happened around where I grew up in NW Iowa. I remember one time when 240 acres of standing corn near Laurens Iowa became a harvested 240 acres chopped, disked and plowed on one Saturday. All the participants had three great home cooked meals, and a couple of snacks during the day. Every color of impliment was there, and the Texaco Tank Truck was also there filling fuel tanks. (I think gas was 17cents a gallon)
I can't recall ever seeing anything like it in any other profession.

That video was taken directly south of where the new school complex is located at Farmington IL. Both my grandfather and great grandfather are in that video. A friend posted it on youtube a few years ago and I still watch it on occasion.
