Do you feller have a problem keeping skin on your knuckles when shifting gears? Seems I bang my hand on the hydraulic lever cage and draw blood ever now and then. I have been thinking of removing the assembly. Only smarts for a short but I still don't care for it.

I've never had that problem. Now, on Dad's super C, we had to straighten out that "cage" as you call it, his got bent. Well, when he put it back together, he's got it angled wrong, because you can't get the full travel of the touch control levers, and it is also too close to the shifter, and if you're not careful, you'll hit it while shifting gears.

What I'm trying to say, is that I know that one of ours is angled wrong and I need to fix it, is it possible that yours is angled wrong, too?

Sounds like something may be angled wrong, as I have driven a C for well over 40 years, and never had that problem that I recall.

I've never bumped my hand on my Super C so I just went out to measure it, about an inch and3/4 clearance in first and third.

I wouldn't know if it was angled wrong. Happens when I am eye balling the drawbar hole with a wagon or other implment to hitch. Probly my tall stiff body and the angle of my arm.
