656 manifold screw???

My 1965 IH Farmall 656 has a black screw just above the carb. when I turn it somthing is hitting in there, this is the best I can explain it.What is it and what is it for???? Thanks Josh

Sounds like maybe you're talking about the heat riser in the manifold. If that's the case, be glad that you can turn it and glad that it "hits something". If that's not what you're referring to, I don't know.

My thoughts too. Spring is gone so we think it is a screw?

should be a 1/8th inch pin wright below your Screw . What you are missing is the bi metal spring that controls the heat riser butterfly .
