H Hydrolic Fluid Level

Can anyone tell me how to measure the Hydrolic level in my H, the cap does not have a level stick. How far from the top of the nipple should my level be? When the cap is on it is almost against the casing or just above bottoming out, so I do not have any extention on it. Thanks for any response.

Sounds like the fill pipe might be a bit short, but if it works, why change it?

The belly pump reservoir holds 6 quarts. Over-filling the reservoir will not hurt a single thing, other than make a mess when the excess squirts out the vent hole in the fill cap. Too much oil is much better than too little. I'd say take a length of wire, make a loop in it so it can't fall all the way in, and then insert it down into the fill pipe, pull it back out, and if the oil on that wire indicates it is within an inch or two of the top, you're good to go.

Thanks just the info I need!!! I will try that tonight. My pipe might be a little higher I was just trying to go by memory, you know how that can fail sometimes.
