660 injection pump

My 660 Has a miss on number 2, I swapped injectors with number one and the miss can still be traced to 2. When I crack the line on two the blue puffs go away but the miss is there of course. Tighten the line back still misses and smoke appears again. Compression is same as others and changing injectors doesn"t move the problem. Would I be right in thinking that 2 delivery is bad on pump. Thanks

If smoke stops with line loose and restarts when tight you are getting fuel from pump OK but do not have enough heat to burn fuel. Still sounds like compression is lower on cyl 2. What temp thermostat is installed, does it fire when up to temp?

What did the precup look like? Even with a bad precup it should clear up when warm, unless you have a hole in the piston from a dribbling injector, but then the compression test would show. Did you take the valve cover off to check the valves? Maybe it is simply out of adjustment? Just some thoughts.

I ran the valves. Here is another question, if the injectors pop at 700 to 1000 psi then the spray should be that high right? I rigged up an inj outside the head and ran the motor, I can hold my finger under the inj nozzle. I would think it should penetrate the skin. Its not even close to a sting.
