Is a Fast hitch 3 bottom plow only good for scrap?

I'm not very knowledgable about the fast hitch equipment, so I'm just asking the question. My wife's uncle has a nice 3-14 fast hitch plow that he is trying to sell, but it seems nobody uses them anymore. He's thinking about just selling it for scrap. I told him to hold on to it a little longer & wait and see. He's not looking for top dollar. It just seems a shame to throw away a perfectly good plow.

lots of people out there are still useing those plows.Advertize in 'Red Power Magazine',on the photo adds here.A good welder can convert that plow to a 3point.

You just haven't got hold of the right person needing one. I had located a 300 Farmall a few years back that used the 3 bottom. I personally now have a two bottom for the 200 farmall as well as a two disk plow and disk and mowing machine and blade. They work well.

Please do not scrap it! collectors are looking for those and fast hitch is getting harder to find.
Put picture of it in Red Power Magazine, also a add on this forum. Tony

It"s in eastern Wisconsin. I think he"s looking around $300, not exactly sure. Email is open.

Advertising in the local "Penny Saver" you're really limiting your market.

There are lots of free online places to advertise the plow.

Someone will drive 100's of miles and pay $200-$300 for that plow. You just need to get the word out.

Craiglist, the photo ads on this site... Heck you probably sold it just by posting this thread! (If this is really just a disguised for sale ad, you did a bang-up job!)

It looks like Super Chief to me. Wore pretty badly (see the light spots on the moldboards, they're getting THIN).

Even if they don't use the plow outright, the frogs are valuable for converting older #8 Little Genius plows over to modern bottoms that you can actually get replacement parts for.

sounds like the guy who had the fenders that he was going to scrap unless someone would give him alot of money. if he thinks it's only worth scrap he should sell it for scrap price, around $100 not the $300 that you stated that he is asking.

Good call, I forgot about that part. I will give $100 cash and pick it up tomorrow night if it is 14" or 16" (which I assume it is)

If you are in eastern WI look around. There are still guys mb plowing all over the place. You have to flip that red clay to get in there in spring.

Nice plow. Scrap will bring $260/ton, and that plow is little over a 1000#. So for scrap it will bring $150. Alot of guys will buy it for that. I would, but I just put new moldboards on my 311 plow last fall.

Good luck. You should have no problem selling it, if you list it in the right places.

I just bought a 3-16" with good iron [except coulters] with a gauge wheel for my 400.I won top bit of 380 on ebay and drove about 60 miles to get at[just south of Carrollton,Oh.]
