More on the Farmall 400

First, thanks to all who responded to earlier comment concerning a Farmall 400.

I stopped today and gave it a closer look.

SN - 17730. That is all I can make out. Everything else is gone.

On the right side of the motor I found this number stamped...not cast, but stamped - 152787.

It has no belt pulley and three hydraulic remotes. It has new metal emblems but does not have "McCormick" nor do I find the holes where the MCcormick plate should be mounted.

Any further thoughts?

Most times the stamped numbers and letters is all thats left to see on those serial plates.
Mccormick emblem goes above the farmall. should be 3 mounting holes.
Without looking the information up I would say thats probably the original engine serial #. C-264 engine serial numbers started with the SM. SW tractors and continued through SMTA and 400 series. Engine numbers were up a good bit into 6 digits when 400 tractors started. Off the top of head, think I remember it was 136xxx or so.
Unless its a professional paint job a 400 is not the highest price seller around.
