hi i was thinking about running bio diesel this summer in my 706 farmall and my 1850 oliver other than buying stock in wix filters is there any other reason not to run it in my tractors?

the bio diesel is very hard on older seals and gaskets and even some fuel lines/hoses. If your fuel pump has been rebuilt in recent years you probably will be ok but if it is older you may end up with problems down the road. The older materials just wern't designed to stand up to bio fuels like the newer materials.

I had a 2001 Dodge cummins high out put diesel and when I ran bio-diesel the power dropped and so, did the mileage. I wished bio-fuels made from corn and soybeans were the answer to our energy problems but, they are not. Maybe if,the fuels were made from alfalfa or algae but, I don't know.
