560 leaking oil

I just rebuilt a 560 gas engine. New everything. Out of frame rebuild. When I started it up looked to be leaking oil out of the oll pan gasket, rear of engine just above the clutch dust cover. Replaced pan gasket, used sealer and black rtv, didn't overtighten. Still leaking, It is hard to see for sure, but I am thinking it is coming from the main seal???? Hate the thoght of splitting again. Any ideas other than the rear main? It is a steady stream of oil. If I split it, is there anyway to be sure how to locate the source? Thanks for your help.

There are a few different places that the leak can be coming from, to locate leaks like this. What I do is split the tractor, and remove the flywheel. Then plug the crankcase blowby tube with a rag. If there is a breather hose from the valve cover to the air cleaner pipe you will need to plug the hole in the valve cover also. Install the bolts that you removed from the flywheel back into the end of the crankshaft finger tight. Now install a air blow gun in the dipstick hole with a little rag and add some (little) air pressure to the crankcase and watch the rear seal area for bubbles. If you spray a little soapy water on the rear seal that will help to find the leak. Let us know what was leaking. good luck charlie

Yes I did put the plugs in the rear bearing caps but i woner if they are leaking. It is almost a non stop stream of oil. I don't think I forgot a plug but is possible.
