Farmall M push Rods

Just put a rebuilt head on a 49 M . Went together great . But there is not any clearence. Between the valves and the rockers . # 4 valve does have a little clearence but the rest are tight. Even when I backed the Adjusters out all the way . My thinking is that the Head was milled down to far .?? If that is the case . Is there a shorter Push Rod available ? If so what farmmall would it come out of ?

Putting a .100" shim under the rocker shaft might be far easier than finding pushrods. The shim needs to include any oil passage or spacing to assure upper lube, but it is an easy fix. Jim

just a little note. if you put all new valves in your rebuilt head are you sure you have the right valve leingth? there are different valve leingth depending on head casting you have. i have run into this b4

Thank you for responding . I hope the rebuilder put the correct valves in . But can't say forsure. I will try the old shim trick .

Are you sure the pushrods popped into their cups? It sounds like you are OK but we can hope.

yep, i agree with that. cant see planning the head that much.
