350 center housing ?

I'm trying to get the T/A out of my 350. The clutch housing won't come loose. What am I missing ?

All 9 of the big screws out of the rear of the housing. Parts book lists (2) 1/2" x 6 3/4' hex head bolts for tractors without a steering stabilizer, but I can't find them. Anywhere.

Help!

Thanks

Greg

I'm guessing you're talking about the 2 bolts at the top of the housing. The heads take a 3/4 wrench. They are at the top where the bell housing is flat across the top. Hope this helps.

I wish it were that easy. The tractor is split once already. It is the second split that is causing the trouble. It acts like the clutch housing (the T/A section) is still bolted to the rear frame, but I can't find anymore bolts to take out...

I know that all the bolts that hold the rear split are 5/8 inch in Dia. One question, did you remove the bottom center bolt? That's the bolt that is under (maybe I should say above) the small cover on the bottom of the TA housing. You said that you have removed 9 bolts I can not remember how many bolts there are for sure. I have a TA housing setting on my transmission stand at my shop that I will count in the morning. I'm planning on making it into a cutaway model for RPRU this summer.

The rear split can be fun to break loose if the last time the two sections were apart and somebody used some gasket sealer that is really holding it together. Good Luck Charlie

Here is a illustration of the mating surface I see 9 bolts. Jim

There is the cover on the bottom that has to be removed and then remove the bolts on the inside of that part of the housing. Be careful that these are removed or you run the risk of breaking your housing at this location. Hope this helps. Tim

After i shut my computer off last night I realized that those are the 1/2" bolts in the parts book. I'm still stuck on the other end.

That's what I'm thinking now. The joint is so thin that there might not be a gasket in there. They must have used epoxy, I can't drive a thin putty knife into the joint.

ps it looks like the rear tub is from a different tractor, so someone was in there before.

sounds like you got all your bolts out so have someone hold a block of wood against the bell housing were those 3 big bolt holes are for mounting a bucket loader frame. have them place the block against that section and give it a couple controlled wollups with a sledge hammer..
