Hi guys!
I bought a semi-mounted 120 Sickle bar mower yesterday, and When I hooked it up to my 450 today, I could not get it to level up laterally. I was out of adjustment on the hitch, and it sat so crooked that when I tried to lift the mower with the hydraulics, it would not go high enough to actually lift the cutter bar. I have a fast hitch with the 3 point prongs on the 450, and there are cat. 1 pins bolted up to the mower. Has anybody else had a similiar expirence? The owner's manual shows using a 3 point drawbar to hook it up, I'm thinking of using a cat 2 drawbar on it, hoping that the extra width would support the mower better. Think that might work or is that just wishful thinking? Anybody have any advice with these mowers? I want to use it for ditch mowing, Not like I'm gonna try cutting a hay field with it. But I want to get it working right so I can use it.
Thanks for the advice! -Andy
