Farmall H Issues

Everyone, thank you for helping, and need just a little more assistance.

While firng up and running our Farmall H raffle tractor, we have a few leaks we have been struggling wiht to fix before paint. 1. THe last head bolt on the left side of the engine has antifreze around it after we run it and warm it up. THe head was complete gone through and preasure checked, what else could be doing this? HOw do we fix it?

2. We are having oil leak around valve cover, we have replaced it twice, and it sill leaks out. ANy tricks? Valve cover was pitted and we did not use sealent yet, but are ready to fix it!

Any help is great.

Those valve covers on an H are rarely straight anymore. Here is what I have done over the years. No sealer ,just squish. Use the heavy cork original style gasket, soak it in hot water until it is soft and compressible with the fingers. I used to crank up the steam cleaner. The gasket may stretch out over size and you just push it back under cover as you tighten it down. Far as coolant leaking around that head bolt, may have to jury rig that with a lead washer. It is probably leaking from the bottom of threaded end and should have had sealer on threads. If you could get that stud back out,(after draining coolant) you could then seal the threads with out pulling head.

I always spray hi tack on the gasket and the valve cover. Let them sit about a minute and put together. You only put that on the valve cover side of the gasket.

I see there is a drip by the side belt bulley as well. All new seals, but it is leaking out of the shims. How do you get that to stop dripping>?
