I need to replace the brake band on the right side of my 1947 cub. Anyone give me an idear of what i am in for. Looks like I have to pull the final drive to get to the brake drum. anything I should be aware of like shims falling out or is it pretty cut and dry. Thanks for any help.

Is the band broke or is it just the lining wore out?
It's pretty simple. Wedge the front axle, support the rear end with a jack or overhead strap, remove the wheel, disconnect the brake rod clevis, then unbolt the final.
It kinda heavy and awkward, so be prepared after you get it past the alignment pins, and pull straight out so as not to damage the transmission seal (and also during reinstallation). There are no shims to worry about.

You can replace the lining yourself and save some money.
