wheel color on an A

What color were the wheels painted on an A. I've got a new wheel to put on and there is no hint of color on either rear wheel unless the color was rust.

These guys are correct, but correct me if I'm wrong......I believe on the "A" during War Times, the rims themselves were painted yellow?? I believe this is true. El Toro has one that has yellow rims. Maybe he can help

(quoted from post at 20:59:51 03/11/12) Originally, rear rims were galvanized or silver, and the wheel centers were red. Front wheels were the same.

I've never seen factory yellow rims on ANY Farmall. Even if it was an industrial model, painted yellow at the factory, the RIMS were still silver colored.

Here is the picture of El Toro's tractor I was referring to. I thought I recalled reading somewhere that they used that color because it was all they had at the factory during that time ....or something. I'm not sure though.

Everything was in short supply during WW2, including paint, but IF the Farmall tractors were already leaving the factory with galvanized, UNpainted rims, why would they start painting them yellow?

I have no idea, I just thought I had read that somewhere. Maybe El Toro could chime in and tell us why he painted those rims yellow. It could have possibly bee for personal taste.
