I,m thinking of buying an IH 684. Do you know of Any issues with these tractors or watchouts back in the day? The guy is asking $3500. Any suggestions are welcomed.

IF it runs well (make sure it is cold when test started, a warm Diesel is not difficult to start)and has good usable tires. It is a good price.
Make sure the TA is functional.
Make sure the PTO holds full load.
Run it till it reaches temperature, watch sxhaust for smoke and vent for blow by.
Ask for receipts for repairs.
Hours approaching 13000 need to have been overhauled Or they are not prime purchases.
Test the brakes as well. Jim

Brakes and parking brake better work.

Parking brake tends to get left on and the tractor has ample power to drive with it on shredding it into the hyd oil in the trans.

Brakes are hyd, sometimes issues with seals and air locking.
