Starter dont make a sound. I took it to a shop and they put it on there tester and it worked fine. Got any ideas?? I put it back on the Cub, but got nothing.

How old is your battery? You need to make sure your battery is fully charged. If your battery cables are cracked or old replace them with 00 cables with soldered lugs. Clean all surfaces where your cables are attached including the area where your battery is grounded. If you have a hydrometer check the specific gravity in each battery cell. Should be in the 1.260 range. If one reads 1.100 buy a new battery. Hal

Tractor in neutral, fuel and ignition off. Standing next to the starter, grab the starter toggle on the starter with your index finger and thumb and actuate the switch and wiggle it at the same time. The contacts may be dirty.
Or there is a bad ground between the starter and frame.

Better clean it up with some baking soda then check the level of the fluid and like othere post said check the hy level. Now are all the posts clean and bright on the battery and cables and then ground then how is the sw mounted on the starter. If all these things check out it will start.

Somma u were right. I went through my cables, cleaning everyting. Then I changed batterys. That did it. The batt I have is way too big, so I gouot to buy the right sized one for it.

The size of the battery won't keep it from starting unless it has a dead cell causing your battery voltage to drop too much. A larger battery usually has more cranking amps. Hal
