Wheatland 706

Good morning. We have a 1963 International 706 Diesel Wheatland. S/N 531. It's a first day of production tractor. It came from Rock Island to Wallem International in Belvidere, Illinois. It was a demo tractor. It has dual PTO, 3 point hitch and had a major overhaul about 300 hours ago. We need a larger tractor (1466 or 1566) to do the chores so we're considering selling the 706 to a collector. Would prefer a collector or museum so this old relic stays alive. Not exactly sure what it's worth. Please send any thoughts to our email. Thanks....

There are lots of guys on this board that should be able to tell you what your 706 is worth.Personally I don't see anything wrong with your question, how are you going to know what to ask for it if you have no idea what its worth?

(quoted from post at 05:57:33 03/08/12) If you want to sell your tractor post a picture and a price in the Photo Ads section: https://photos.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/photoads/classifieds.cgi

This isn't the place to post your tractor for sale. Questions on how to fix it, sure, no problem.

He said he was considering selling it. Not that it IS for sale just yet.

I really don't know the value. The low serial number may or may not be a plus, but it sure doesn't hurt it any either. How many 706 wheatlands were built? I would think maybe the 706 would be fewer in numbers than the 806.

Lighten up? All I did was tell him that if he wanted to sell it, post an ad in the classifieds.

That is, if and when he decides to sell, he should post an ad here so we can see it and have the opportunity to buy it.

YOU lighten up. He never asked what the tractor was worth, just stated that he didn't know.

Sorry for the commotion folks. My intent was to find out if this 706 Wheatland with the low S/N might be collectable. My problem is I can"t afford to restore it and buy another tractor to do the chores. I"m also trying to keep it alive by insuring it go"s to a collector or museum. Thanks....

706's, especially diesels, are still front-line tractors on many farms.

Your tractor does have a significant value. It might even be collectible to the right person.

706 wheatland diesels are not all that common. Yours may be the first wheatland to come off the line, considering it's the 31st 706 ever built.

Price is going to depend on condition. Could be anywhere from $3500 to $15,000 for a real nice low-houred example.

If the tires are nice (60% or more tread) The cosmetics are good to better (metal straight, seat nice, gauges work, no bad leaks, and the shifting and brakes are field ready, my estimate would be 12-14,000. Documents on the OH are a plus. Nice paint is probably not important unless rusty.

Look dick you are the one who is always running his mouth on this site with rude and short remarks. You are the one that jumped his case for not posting in classifieds. Some people pounce the minute they think someone is trying to advertise something on the forum. No, you lighten up.

Hi Vic. This is a very nice tractor. I live about 2 miles from it and even got to drive it to high school for tractor day one year. That was a cold day, but man i thought i was on top of the world that day.
