Body Filler

NAPA has a filler for thin application that is more of a surfacer. This is also available at pro auto paint stores. It has micro fine filler particles and doesn't setup with scratchy lumps or sandy surface. I like it. Jim

what are you trying to fill? dents require different than pock marks from rust. I like to "wash" with phosphoric acid then primer surfacer, sand smooth then primer again, repeat as necessary til surface is what you desire.

PPG DF 705, or equivalent, try to keep the thickness to no more than 1/8 inch, I try to get it to 1/16. In other words get the damaged area as flat as you can get it before application. 705 is best for bare metal. I sometimes cover it with one of the Evercoat products, or for a few pinholes a single stage putty. If putty sand it all off and just leave the filled pin holes. The most common and also the worst one you can buy is Bondo, leaves a lot of pin holes to fill.
