Restoring an IH Farmall 140.....UMBRELLA IDEAS??

I need an idea of putting an umbrella on a 1974 IH 140 tractor. I would like one with the "IH" logo.....color doesn't matter. I need to know how you guys mount it on the tractor, and where you mount it. Also need a good source for a nice umbrella. Pictures would be great if you got em!!

Those square canopies would be ok too, if yall know of a source that has those with the IH logo. I just don't have a clue how to mount it and it still look good and be usable with the cultivators. FYI, it DOES NOT havea a 1 point fast hitch.

On the top of the transmission case, close to where the PTO assembly bolts to the transmission, there are two threaded holes, possibly still with the factory cork in them. (The holes are vertical and the line conneting the two holes is parallel to the rear axle.)
I remember that our late friend Hugh Mackay used these holes for mounting an umbrella.

Would anyone happen to know if I could find some pictures (and where) of the mount that Hugh McKay used for his umbrella? OR just pictures of his tractor with an umbrella. I am really needing to know because we are restoring a 140 tractor for someone, and need to find out where to mount the umbrella.....the "factory" set-up would be ideal. They are expected to pick their tractor up around the end of April.

An umbrella was not a factory option.

Usually umbrellas come with universal mounting kits. On the one Dad got for the 856, the vertical pipe had a flange on the bottom, which he bolted to an open hole on the platform. There was also an adjustable brace, which he bolted to another open hole on the platform.

The umbrella kits are pretty flexible and inspire creativity. It'll be much easier once you have the kit in hand to figure out what to do.

Thanks Matt, I'm sure you're correct once I get one. The only umbrellas I've seen are just solid colored universal ones. I am looking for a Nice, High quality one with the IH logo on it.

Would anyone happen to know where I could get one? Also, I found a bracket for a John Deere tractor that looks like it MIGHT work on the 140. Here is the picture.....what do yall think?

If you've got the "deluxe" seat on the 140, it'll work just fine.

That bracket would make quick work of the problem. No welding, no fuss, no muss.

The seats were made by the same manufacturer apparently. I've seen the JD cushions and IH cushions together, up close. They're identical except for color.

No muss? What exactly is muss!?

Has anyone ever seen a Buggy Top umbrella on a Farmall Super A, 100, 130, or 140 tractor?? I feel like this style would look really good on the 140. I would like to see pictures of one on a tractor like that because I would need to figure out a way to fasten it to the tractor. Mine has a deluxe seat also and would have less clearance near the fenders for a mount. I want a really clean and "factory looking" mount (I do know they weren't factory) if I can either buy one or fabricate one for this tractor. Hope to get some type of ideas and/or pictures from you all. Here is a picture of the style umbrella I am speaking of.

THANKS~!
