I am looking for a front bumper for my 464 because mine got torn up, as you can see. Whenever I call a company and ask for a 464 bumper, they send me pictures that are different from what I have. I am starting to wonder if my bumper is actually off a different tractor. My bumper attaches to the front of the tractor with 2 bolts and has a full width bracket running behind the actual bumper with a support bar in the middle. Does anyone know if this is the correct bumper for this tractor and, if not, what tractor it was for? Also, where would be the best place to find a new one?

Other than needing sandblasting, maby a bit of welding, and new paint I don't see that much wrong with that bumper. Remove it from the tractor, sandblast, repair, and repaint and it will be good as new! In other words nothing wrong that can't be fixed. Use it and enjoy!! Armand P.S. Be sure to show us the after pictures!

I also think that it can be repaired to be good (or better) than new. Take it to a blacksmith, or welding repair shop and get a few bids. Also ask at a trade school. If you are in central MN, I could have students straighten and weld it for free as an assignment. Jim

I asked a local welder/blacksmith/engine rebuilder to take apart and re-weld a big galvanized steel bracket for my tractor (MF-240) to make it into a front fender that would fit. He took a long look, said he had a better idea. Took it over to his huge many-many-ton hydraulic press, put it in, and pressed it right into the correct shape. Was done in a couple minutes. Might not work, but youmight ask around, get that bent side pressed right back into shape.

I'd straighten and fix that one, I'm not aware of any "factory" bumper for these tractors. It's likely a one off or low production piece and not necessarily an IH part (?)

Thanks for your advice! I was surprised to hear that you all thought my bumper could be fixed and still retain its strength! I got a few welders phone numbers today and I will get some quotes. Thanks again!

PS: I will try to get some "after" pictures posted later on.
