Combination Rear Light-56 series and newer

I am working on a combination rear light off a 685. It is the same as the one on the 56 series tractors, and a lot of others. Is the small bulb supposed to be red or white?
I have one rear light that appears to be original, and on the main work light bulb the rear reflective surface is painted red, and there is a spot that isnt painted, for the small bult to shine through. On the light I am working on, the main bulb has a normal silver reflective coating, and it doesnt appear that the small bulb can shine through the coating.

You need a lamp with the red back. Lamp number is 4409X. IH part number is 371461R92. The small bulb number is 1003.

The lamp you have with the silver back is most likely either a 4406 or 4411. Neither one will allow any light to shine through from the back.

Originally the red back on the lamp you have had an area that looks a bit different from the rest. This is where the small bulb has to be located. There is no reflective material in that area so the light can shine through the red and out through the bulb lens. With age the red in this area fades away and you are left with a lamp assembly that is nearly white in the road position rather than red.
