Farmall Cub problem

My 1972 Cub starts and runs fine most of the time, sometimes it will start and run and act like it is starving for gas. I have cleaned the entire fuel system, flushed the tank and rebuilt the carburator. There are times when I mow for about an hour and it will start with the above problem. HELP

Have you checked the ignition system to see if you are losing spark? Coil or condenser may be failing after they get hot.

A chunk of trrash in the tank will intermittently plug up the hole. A float sticking will do it as well. Jim

My cub behaved similarly a few days ago. Turned out to be the condenser. The distributor housing was also full of debris and moisture. Check it with a test light. It will verify your problem.

When it quits running check for fire to your plugs asap before the engine cools. If you still have good fire to your plugs. Remove that tube fitting where your gas line connects at the carburetor. Look for a screen behind that tube fitting that may be plugged with dirt or rust. Hal
