Restored this 14 5-years ago. In the past 3 months the diafram has blown out twice. The only change I have made is a new fuel pump push rod. I do not know what could be blowing the diaframs.

Sugestions would be appreciated.

Mac, Where do you get you diafram from? It may be cheep china rubber! Are you buying the diafram with the linkage rod factory install in it? Or are you installing the linkage your self?
Rice Equipment sells them preassembled riveted.
No screws and such. That could be your problem.

I had trouble with my F14 not getting enough gas,I built the fuel pump rod a little longer than a new rod and it never had any affect on my diaphram, now Im getting a little to much gas

Fuel was pumped from the pump back to a T on the tank some gas went back into the tank some went to the carb, what put the presser to the carb? Pete

I am not sure how the excess gas gets back to the tank! I do know the last time this happened the oil pan had all 3-gallons of fuel in it along w/ the Gov and everything else. A real mess. Since then I turn the gas tank off. It still goes to the oil pan when I run the engine.

that little engine that burns a quart an hr. has most fuel returned to tank, as the pump is pumping way more than the engine needs. should be a return line t'd to top of tank.
