Does anyone know anything about these govenors. I just purchased an M and the seller said it had one of these on it. Looks just like a farmall unit to me

Sold by Tractor Supply in the seventies maybe earlier. Four weight governor. Sought after by tractor pullers. Some think it is better than an M&W governor. Worth Three hundred bucks.

You need to remove the cover to see the difference. The housing and cover ARE original IH.

There was different variations of governors sold. This picture is one type of M&W with 2 weights. Notice the 2 weight pins are retained by a long cottor pin thats different from the way IH retained them. Thompson also had one with the weights like that.
Heisler and some aftermarket parts places sold a kit with weights like that and they used the same IH throttle tube to carburetor.
Probably some variations around I haven't saw besides the 4 weight M&W and Thompson or Rocket.
