1466 hyd valve problem

The 1466 that I bought two years ago, has two rear remote valves but one is locked up in one direction. I can pull back on the leaver to raise the cylinder but it will not push foward to lower the cylinder. I took the linkage off and put a pair of vice grips on the end of the valves plunger and I can push it in but cannot pull it out. The other valve works fine. What could be locking it up to keep from the plunger going foward from the center position? It does have pressure when you push the valve back from the center position. Can I take the cap off the back, the one that takes a 1 1/2 socket and see whats going on? Appricate any help.

Almost sounds like you cut an "O" ring. I had that happen once with similar results. Had a heqq of a time getting the spool out. Try the link below and see if the illustration helps.

Try taking the plug (if it is still in the back cap) and try backing off the latching valve screw and see if that will not cause it to UNLATCH . If this is not the problem then you are going to have to get it apart.
