Lower engine picture, what is this cover called.

Put in new main and rod bearings last night, also put on my freshly painted left rear cast iron center and rim. Wire brushed all the nuts, half nuts and bolts and painted them up.

I'd like to get a new gasket, but I need to know the name of the part it seals up. In the picture, on the left hand side which is the rear of the engine block, there is a cover with 1 oil pan stud that I needed to remove to reach the rear main bearing. There was another cover behind that one. I removed a gasket that I would like to replace but have been searching under "oil pan" and "engine block" on the case-ih parts site and cannot locate the cover.

Ok, found it, a crankshaft rear oil retainer plate gasket and a crankcase rear dust seal gasket. Thank you for the suggestion.

Put in the new bearings, tested the clearance as we went, pretty much .002 clearance with all 7 bearings, I'm hoping for great oil pressure!

In the bottom of the engine block, covered by the oil pan are 2 holes that are plugged with cork. What are they for and why the cork?

Check the shaft clearence in the oil pump. Have seen many shafts worn and letting oil pressure escape there.
