Can a Farmall Super C engine be put in a Farmall C tractor. I have a Super C with a good engine, and a Nice C that needs an engine and wondering if the engines will interchange without any problems? I do know the Super C has a water pump, but does that have to be used? Anyway, wondering?

Water pump does not need to be used on either engine cause lots of the Cs have the SC kits and dont use the pump.

I think (you do need to get more information) that the water pump problem will give you some grief. If you try to install the SC engine with the water pump in place there is space problems with the C. If you delete the water pump there may be bolt up problems. You will end up bringing over the entire front bolster from the SC and the radiator for the SC is taller. The tin will not fit. The C engine is easy to rebuild. You need sleeves and possibly pistons. If the crank is in good condition no machine shop work is needed on the bottom of the engine. You would need a typical valve job on the top which might be a machine shop job. It is possible to oversize the pistons using larger sleeves and achieve the same displacement as the SC. Why swap out the engine?

You are all messed up with your info the blocks are the same. The water pump will bolt on any A,B,orC and can be used without changing radiators it has been done many many times. The only difference in bolsters is where the steering in-put shaft is. You can put a Bs steering if you would like and by the same the Cs could be used on a B if you wanted. Ive seen a B with seat moved to the center above the tranny and a Cs steering sector used.
